Hi, I'm Sarah Heatley!

Having grown up on the South coast and coming from a Navy family I have never been far away from water!

When I had my own children I wanted to make sure that they were confident around water and got as much fun and enjoyment from it as I have. So in 2005, when my daughter was 6 months old, we enrolled in what was, back then, one of the first baby swimming classes in the country. I loved it, my daughter loved it and next thing you know I was starting a new career and on the long road to becoming a qualified swimming teacher and accredited instructor for a well known and respected baby swimming provider.

Although I specialised in baby & pre-school in those early years gaining the Safety Training Awards Level 2 Certificate In Aquatic Teaching, I also studied for the Amateur Swimming Association Level 1 & 2 Certificate for Teaching Swimming. This gave me the skills to teach a much wider age range from non-swimmers to competition swimmers which I have been doing since 2016. More recently, I managed the East Anglian team who had swimmers in the ISA National Finals at The Olympic Pool London. What a day that was!

21 months after my daughter was born, along came my son who had his first baby swimming lesson at just 8 weeks old!   Neither of them ever feared water, in fact I remember both used to run and jump in the swimming pool before they could even swim. They are now competitive swimmers who, like me, love the water.

Never one to stop learning, I studied for the ASA Level 2 Extended Diploma in Coaching Learn to Swim (Pre- Fundamentals) (QCF) in 2014 which really crystallised everything I had learned and studied over the previous 9 years both as a swimming teacher and mother to 2 swimmers.

My personal fitness passion is triathlons which I have been training for and taking part in since 2015. I am a member of a local club and have been coaching some of the members on their stroke development in addition to helping with injury rehabilitation. This is something I would love to do more of.

So, in summary, I have many years experience as a swimming teacher across all ages from baby & pre-school right up to competitive swimmers. I am fully qualified to teach all levels and have enjoyed great success across all these age groups and abilities.

I am more than happy to chat through your requirements and you can even come for a trial session at no cost.
